Born and raised in Arkansas, I didn’t discover my love for media until I moved to Oklahoma for college, where I attended a small church-based internship/on-site college. It was there that I met some of my best friends, and alongside them learned how expansive the world of photography and videography can be. I was a member of the media team, so I very quickly learned how to work a camera and was heavily saturated with opportunities to do so. I did this for two years and loved every second of it. The problem was that when I was there, I had all the cameras and equipment I could possibly need, but when I graduated and moved home, I had nothing. Camera equipment is not cheap, so I started saving up and bought a camera off one of my buddies. This would be the camera that helped me fall in love with photography again, a Canon 6D. It was capable of a lot less than what I was used to, which ended up teaching me the important lesson that, just like a fancy car does not make you a good driver, more expensive equipment does NOT make the pictures good. It does, however, give a practiced photographer more options and new opportunities in how the image can be captured. I used that Canon 6D for years before finally upgrading to the Canon R6ii in 2023, and I am loving it. I can’t wait to see what all I can do with it, and I hope you’ll be a part of that process.
